The best decision I ever made was marrying my high school sweetheart.  All these years later, our life together is still a wonderful ride filled with joy, laughter, a beautiful extended family, fabulous friends- all over the world- and so much more.  The greatest life gift was the birth of our two beautiful daughters, now successful young women, wives, and incredible moms in their own right.  Our family has expanded beyond my wildest dreams, and I treasure every moment of this amazing life.

For three plus decades, my best friend, Barbara Kline, and I have supported each other through the roller coaster ride of joyous parenthood.  Thankfully, there were way more ups than downs and lots of laughter along the way.  Now, we each are blessed with four grandkids!  Yes, the 2BoomerBabes* have officially graduated to 2GrandBabes (LOL) and the amazing journey of grandparenthood.

Throughout the years, I’ve had many titles: daughter, granddaughter, sister, cousin, student, tennis player, sister-in-law, aunt, friend, wife, mom, teacher, volunteer, coach, realtor, in-law, radio host, and now the grandest of all, Grammie.  I am forever amazed that my heart can constantly expand to hold so much love.

 

With this life transition came the "birth" of The Grands Club – All Things Grandparenting as so many rules, recommendations, and expectations have changed since we raised our own kids.  What about our own nursery? (Who knew bumpers with the matching pillow and quilt are now banished?!)  Or what’s swaddling and where do I take lessons? (Didn’t we just wrap our babies in blankets?)  What about that crib I’ve lovingly saved in the attic all these years? (Throw it out!) And what to do when Granny (unwittingly) becomes the Nanny?  (Personally, I babysit as often as I can).

 

I'll be speaking with some fascinating individuals who will share their experiences, lessons learned along the way, and dreams for their grandchildren.  I hope you’ll join me on the grandest ride ever and spark conversation by letting me know all about your grand journey.  I’d love to share it with our growing community. The podcast targets the millions of boomers who are experiencing life transitions, discovering new interests, exploring “what’s next,” and changing the rules about aging.
